Qualification Objective

The SEG Awards Level 3 Certificate in Social Prescribing is aimed primarily at those working within or looking to move to a role where elements of social prescribing are used as part of their work. This includes areas such as healthcare, local government and the voluntary and community sector. It will enable learners to broaden their skills and knowledge in social health and well-being work and to support individuals to access services in the community that are appropriate to their needs.

The qualification will be awarded to learners who successfully achieve all four of the mandatory units and three out of the five optional units within the qualification, under the Rules of Combination, by meeting the specified Assessment Criteria.

  • To achieve this qualification the learner must complete 21 credits; 12 credits from the mandatory group and a further 9 credits from the optional group.
  • You will need to gather a portfolio of evidence, made up of group work tasks, assignments, personal reflections, case studies and research.
  • For each module there will be a workbook and study tasks to help you achieve this.
  • It would be advantageous if you have some personal work experience to draw on, but it’s not essential for this course.
  • Your work will be assessed and internally moderated to ensure you meet all the assessment criteria laid down by the awarding body, to receive your final qualification and certificate from SEG Awards.
