Need 2 Succeed has been working with partners such as Merton Voluntary Service Council (MVSC) in South London, to enable them to reach communities who would benefit most from their training and accredited qualifications.
MVSC currently hosts the Social Prescribing Service for Merton, employing 9 Social Prescribing Link Workers. They have the unique offer of being based at the heart of the voluntary and community sector, with vast knowledge and database of agencies to refer clients to.
Need 2 Succeed has used this expertise to test this qualification and to develop a programme best suited to the needs of community-based Link Workers.
This qualification takes 4-6 months to complete and is delivered through 8 (biweekly) classroom-based teaching days, online e-portfolio, independent study and assessment of learning. The full qualification is awarded once all units and coursework are completed and passed.
Each teaching day comprises of a morning session devoted to teaching and learning of the subject topic, with the afternoon given over to an Action Learning Set. This allows for guest speakers, tutorial on work to be completed and learner case study presentations to explore best practice.
The cost of the full programme is £1375 per person, which includes all fees, registration costs, access to all learning resources, e-portfolio and assessments materials and tasks.
If needed, we can arrange for training to take place in other areas of the UK, and will also offer discounts on large group numbers. Contact us for more details
There are no formal qualification requirements but participants must be aged 18 and over, with the ability to study at level 3 (E.g. GCSE in English & Maths at C or Grade 4 and above). An initial assessment will be required at the start of the programme and a learning adviser will discuss this in more detail with you.
