The qualification has been developed by the Sector Skills Council for this sector, Skills CFA, and is recognised as the main qualifications for Level 3 in Leadership and Management for the UK.
If you are self-funded, sponsored or taking on a payment plan, you will only need to complete a portfolio of evidence and assignments. Once you have passed your assessed units, you will be awarded a Level 3 Diploma in Management & Leadership from BIIAB.
If you are studying through our funded apprenticeship pathway, you will need to complete the additional components below:
This qualification can be taken separately or as part of a larger apprenticeship programme of study and enables you to develop knowledge in Management & leadership and progress to the next level of vocational learning.
It forms the knowledge requirements for the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Team Leading.
This level is best for you if you are working within a team leader, supervisor or first-line management role. You are likely to provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Key responsibilities typically include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationships both internally and externally.
It supports the skills and knowledge learners need to become a competent Team/Project Leader. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding such as:
12-18 months involving 12 monthly teaching days (or 24 evening sessions) plus assessment time and independent study.
Each level is assessed through the completion of a portfolio of evidence, workbook study tasks, assessment of learning and workplace observations (if required). For the apprenticeship pathway, there will also be an endpoint assessment carried out by an independent awarding body.
There may be opportunities for funding, subject to conditions. If you are employed and working over 21 hours, your course can be 95% funded through our level 3 apprenticeship pathways, if available.
If you are not eligible, please talk to us about payment plans, to spread the cost of your training. A deposit will be required.
For more information on funding, please visit the fund my course page.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you must be aged over 18 and either employed or have regular access to a work environment.
We recommend that you have an excellent command of literacy and numeracy before enrolling on these courses to at least Level 2 (GCSE A*-C or 4-9). We can provide support for this through our programme of online and classroom study for English, Maths and ICT.
